This Friday the 13th is a special one…Hans will celebrate his first birthday!

Over the weekend, we are hosting a birthday party for Hans at one of the local dog parks. Hans loves playing with his neighborhood friends, so what better way to celebrate his big day?!

Hansy's Grams will also be at the party - all the way from Kansas City! We are baking a dog-friendly birthday cake topped with a peanut butter icing. Hans loves peanut butter so we are confident it will be a hit!

Midshipman Hans

One of Hansy's most favorite spots to let loose is the Naval Academy. On the Yard he can run (somewhat) free, steal fishermen's bate - preferably crab, and jump into the Severn River. It's hard to keep up with him!

We're Back - Bigger & Better!

It's been a crazy six months but we've documented it all on camera. 

Hans lost his baby teeth, gained 30 pounds, graduated from training school, experienced his first Spring & Summer, and began showing more of his poodle - to say the least!

He's still the most loving and friendly pup in town.

A Busy Pup

Since the last post, Hans has received all of his shots from the vet and currently weighs-in at 36 pounds! After a bath a few weeks ago, his hair completely unleashed. It's now long and wavy - sticking out in every direction. His poodle is catching up with his lab.

Two weeks ago, Hans traveled to Ohio to help Mom & Dad with wedding plans and met his Grammy & Grandpa. He was a wonderful house guest and loved Cincinnati! He even played the piano! He can't wait to meet Grandma from KC!

A Clean Bill of Health

Yesterday Dad took Hans to the vet. He received two shots and gained 5 lbs since his last visit three weeks ago. He now weighs 19 lbs and Dr. Anderson predicts he will grow to be around 85 lbs! Hans has been getting hiccups every few days (super cute) and Dr. Anderson said they're very common for puppies. He loved visiting with all the girls at the front desk and will see them again in a month.

Day of Rest? Day of Play!

Hans loved spending yesterday outside in the backyard, at the park, and on walks. He is a curious pup and brings Mom & Dad gifts of leaves and wood chips from his finds.

Yesterday Hans took his first trip to Petsmart. While shopping for a doggie toothbrush and chicken-flavored toothpaste, we decided to let Hans pick out his new play toy. Although he already has a handful of toys, none seem to be the "the one". We think he finally found it - a big, pink piggy. She even "oinks".
